The Alameda Family Child Care Association was established twenty-seven years ago. The purpose of the organization was to create new methods to increase efficiency of family child care homes. And to keep the membership informed of all legislation new rules regarding city, county, state, federal policies and regulations. And most of all to improve the quality of existing child care services and the image of family daycare.
Today we have most of our providers enrolled in college classes receiving training in early childhood. They are attending workshops and conferences to enhance the quality of their family child care homes.
AFCCA members attend monthly meeting keeping up-dated in licensing, legislative, childcare issues. Providers learn how to take care of themselves through health workshops, trainings and retreats.
We now have many tools to help us with our family child care environments, the tools show us how to rate & set-up our homes to promote a child friendly setting. The Alameda Family Child Care Association was a lead partner in getting a grant to help providers in computer trainings.
We keep our family child care providers closely networking with other association's county & state - wide to motivate, support them in businesses. Mentoring is a big part of our organization.
We are fortunate in having some of our association leader's move into state & national leadership. Alameda FCCA is a growing association that meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month; all bay area providers are welcomed.
